Coverdrone's most frequent claims

Coverdrone's(drone insurer) most frequent claims in 2021 :

1 - Flying out of visual range

If you fly your drone, you must fly and always have your drone in sight. Without the precautions and knowledge required to fly BVLOS, some operators have crashed because of this.

2 - Flying in areas of high electromagnetic interference

If you're not familiar with objects that cause strong electromagnetic interference, they're usually made of steel and electricity. These objects include powerlines, metal roofs and steel structures.

This usually results in a loss of control of the aircraft, as it no longer calculates a precise heading.

3 - Test a new drone indoors rather than out in the open

Many first-time drone users are apprehensive about testing their new drone outdoors, preferring to fly indoors.

Drones are best suited to flying in large, open environments where they have a strong GPS signal to maintain their position; when you test indoors, you no longer have the same level of position-keeping as outdoors.

4 -Operators see how far they can fly their drone at sea.

Drone operators need to be extremely careful when flying over water and understand the potential dangers, and if they need to take any risks, it's vital to calculate them carefully.

5 - Trust your aircraft's obstacle avoidance systems

There's no doubt that these systems are fantastic, and the functionality they offer is excellent. However, sometimes small objects, such as tree branches, can be difficult for the drone to spot.
