FabKid3D – A drone activity for eldery
A French company decided to innovate by developing a drone piloting activity for seniors. In operation since 2019, FABKID3D began working with children and adolescents. Noting everyone's growing interest in drones, the company decided to create workshops especially for seniors.
This is a very interesting concept considering that some people lose mobility and motor skills as they age. In fact, one of the workshops offered by FABKID3D to seniors is a regional drone co-piloting workshop. The principle is simple: the participant gives directions to the pilot and the latter directs the drone to fly over the places requested by the participant. Images captured by the drone are broadcast live on the participant's TV. What is preferred by their clientele so far is: flying over their village, hiking trails, and rediscovering the places of their childhood. Above all, they enjoy doing an intergenerational activity.
This company also offers a “mission” type activity. As part of this activity, the participants have the mission of carrying out a course during which they will have different challenges to overcome such as defining strategic points on a map and then flying over these points with a drone.
We are convinced of the success of this initiative with elderly because it allows them to learn about this technology, in addition to doing an activity that is out of the ordinary. In addition, it allows them to see the world from a whole new point of view: that of a bird!
Have you ever thought of giving such a gift to a loved one? Exo Drone offers an Initiation course at any time of the year!
