Night flight

Did you know that night flying is possible?

It is possible to fly a mission at night. All that's required is that the atp be sufficiently illuminated to ensure safe navigation. Not to mention that the lighting equipment must be authorized by the atp manufacturer!

Here are a few tips to make your mission a success.

Be more vigilant by ensuring good visual sector balancing technique, taking short interludes to focus on distant objects.

Be visibleby using objects such as cones and lighting to pinpoint your landing zone. This will give you a visual cue when it's time to land the aircraft.

Interesting fact from AIM: the parts of the eye best suited to night vision are not located in the center of the eye. Any object detected in barely sufficient light will disappear from the field of vision if viewed directly, but will often reappearif viewed from 10 to 15 degrees to the side.

Enjoy your flight!
